Samsung releases their P3 MP3 player
Author: Jeff
25 Apr
The last we heard about Samsung’s P3 MP3 player was in January when it was showcased at CES. Well it seems Samsung has finally released the player and it’s not looking half bad.
arlington obgyn
Featuring a 3-inch touch screen and a capacity of 32GB, the Samsung’s P3 is shaping up to be a worthy opponent to Apple’s 32GB iPod touch.
Unfortunately the P3 is only available in Korea as of now with no North American release date announced. However, if you’re looking to pay a bit more than the 389,000 won ($291) that Samsung is asking, I’m sure you can find somewhere willing to import it.

Samsung Makes a Profit in the First Quarter
Author: Chris
24 Apr
Unlike other big names in the mobile business, Samsung managed to bring in some cash in the first quarter of 2009. Overall the company has done batter than in the last quarter of 2008 bringing in a total of $459 million. The sad part for Samsung is that a 72% drop compared to the same period of last yer. As for Samsung’s mobile division, it has grown 36% in revenue which is pretty good considering the current times. With all the phones Samsung announced at the beginning of the year, we’d be surprised for it not to make a profit. We expect Samsung to sell even more phones in the following months as more handsets will be unveiled.

Sprint Debuts Samsung S30
Author: Brian
19 Apr
The Samsung S30 can now be purchased from Sprint at $450 but drops to $130 if the buyer would get it along with a two-year agreement and $100 mail-in rebate. This consumer-oriented smartphone offers a touchscreen, GPS, and wireless broadband.
The original Samsung Instinct was launched last year to be Sprint’s answer to the iPhone, but its marginal web browser hurt its ability to compete against Apple’s smartphone. The new s30 offers an improved web-browsing experience thanks to Opera Mini 4.2.
Sprint has tried to strike a balance between consumer and business functions. This model is able to synchronize with a Microsoft Exchange server for corporate email and calendar data, but also includes the popular games “Guitar Hero - World Tour” and “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader,” access to Sprint TV and Sprint Music, and connections to social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, and YouTube.
Samsung built multimedia support into this device, including an MP3 and video player and a microSD card slot for storing up to 16 GB of songs and movies. A 2.0 MPx camera with video support is also included.

Samsung launches Q2 mp3 player
Author: DaX
16 Apr
Didn’t Samsung release a UMPC with the same name? Yes they did, but that hasn’t stopped Samsung from naming its new mp3 player as the Q2. The Q2, though not a player that could change the PMP world, is pretty decent for a low-to-mid-end, no-frills player that is easy on the pocket (both in terms of cost and size). With DNSe 3.0 sound enhancement to provide a great listening experience and 50 hours of battery life to keep you humming even on your longest bus route uninterrupted, the Samsung Q2 also has a 2.4-inch TFT display, FM radio/recorder, picture/text viewer, and voice recording with support for mp3, wma, ogg, flac, wmv, and MP4 formats.
The Samsung Q2 will be available in a choice of white or black colors at the end of this month for $99.99 (8GB) and $129.99 (16GB).

Samsung i8910 goes to Italy as Omnia HD
Author: DaX
15 Apr
Samsung seems to have finally realized that it would be foolish not to use the successful “Omnia” moniker and has decided to use it after all with the Samsung i8910. The i8910 is now scheduled for a release in Italy as the Omnia HD, although Samsung may still go ahead and release it as the i8910 HD in other markets. Making the event a bit more special is Samsung’s colloboration with the movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which will be opening the same week, for the release of Omnia HD in Italy. As we already know, the the i8910 is similar in most features to Samsung Omnia with a few worthy upgrades, the most notable being an 8-megapixel lens instead of 5 megapixels and the use of AMOLED technology instead of TFT for its 3.2-inch touchscreen display. We still have no idea whether it will be able to record vidoes in 720p, but considering the HD tag that is attached to its name, we are betting it will.
Look for it to land in Italy on April 29 at an undisclosed price.

Samsung Vice to Arrive from Bell Canada
Author: Chris
9 Apr
Bell Mobility is going to launch a new messaging phone in Canada, the Vice from Samsung. Although it might look initially as a candybar handset, the Vice has a full QWERTY slide-out keyboard ready to offer you all the messaging you need.
We don’t have quite all the details yet but the phone is not a slider. It will probably let you do lots of stuff like going online and accessing various services but if you need a true smartphone you might have to look elsewhere for it.
The phone will probably come cheap too but we don’t have any release dates or actual prices. Considering that Bell will sell the Omnia from Samsung for only $129.95 with a 3-year contract we assume the Vice will be significantly more affordable.

Samsung B5702 is official
Author: DaX
8 Apr
We had a picture and a few snippets to go for the B5702 when we first heard about it a few months back, but we are now back with more information on this latest slider. The Samsung B5702 is definitely a mid-ender with its 2.4-inch TFT display, 3-megapixel autofocus camera, and microSD support for up to 8GB (50MB onboard), but it still manages to pack a few surprises under its hood. Continuing with the Samsung Duos tradition, the B5702 supports two SIMs simultaneously and will be able to work anywhere in the world as it supports quad-band GSM850/900/1800/1900MHz networks, but even with its worldphone capability, the B5702 will able to provide only EDGE speeds, which is disappointing. Also thrown in are an FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and a media player.
May will see the Samsung B7502 appear first in Russia with a price tag of 14000 rubles with a release in other parts of the world soon after that.

Samsung S5200, M2310 and M2510 spotted in Netherlands
Author: mobi
7 Apr
m2310
Samsung is very witty in promoting its phone models. Samsung M2310 was under cover in Brazil, where as in Dutch the company seemed to exhibit this low-end model overtly.
Along with the M2310, other phones that made appearance at the Dutch Trade Show were the M2510 and S5200. Yes, I know most of us are unaware of these models. Well, among these the S2500 seems different.
Boasting a trendy two-tone black / red scheme, the S2500 comes equipped with a 3 megapixel camera. The M2510 slider infused with QVGA display, FM radio, and VGA cam bears dedicated music keys.

Samsung Android Phones to be Unveiled by Sprint and T-Mobile
Author: Brian
3 Apr
For the millions of mobile phone users who have been following the developments on the truth behind the Samsung Android rumors, you can all breathe easy now.
Samsung has confirmed that Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile USA will launch the first Samsung phones in the United States based on Google’s Android platform. The confirmation, made by a Samsung executive at the International CTIA Wireless 2009 show in Las Vegas, puts to rest speculation about Samsung’s Android plans for the near future.
Samsung will unveil multiple Android devices this year, according to Dr. Won-Pyo Hong, Samsung’s executive vice president of global product strategy for mobile phones. He said Samsung will launch its first Android handset in June in Europe, but said that U.S. customers would be getting Android phones in the second half of the year.
The two U.S. devices will be “totally different” from one another due to carrier preferences, Hong told Forbes.com. Sprint and T-Mobile are the only two U.S. carriers to join Google’s Open Handset Alliance.
