Pantech has just released a new phone, the Matrix PRO. The phone features HSDPA connectivity, GPS with AT&T Navigator, Bluetooth, a 2 megapixel camera, Video Share support and Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard. Nothing you haven't seen before right? But get ready for this, the Matrix PRO has two slider mechanisms, one for a full QWERTY keyboard and one for a keypad. Simply slide-out the one you need at any time. The phone will be available from AT&T at some point although there's no official announcement regarding release dates and prices.

Pantech C630 is the new cellphone that will become available at AT&T on December 12th, in other words, tomorrow.
This is the third basic cellphone for today, because we've already mentioned the ZTE C78 and the Alcatel 206, but at least all of them have low prices, which in this case is $40 after signing a 2-year contract. In terms of specifications, the Pantech C630 has a microSD slot to expand its small internal memory, a 1.3-megapixel camera, bluetooth, 3G, and finally an unusual feature - GPS.

In case you don't remember, we talked about the Pantech Matrix at AT&T a couple of weeks ago back in Septemer, and the cellphone was officially launched today. It is already listed on the AT&T website with a price tag of $80 with rebate + service agreement, or $280 if you want a free phone.
Like previously mentioned, the Matrix cellphone has an interesting and unique detail - dual slide out keypads. It means there are 2 sliding keyboards, one is numeric while the other is QWERTY. In terms of multimedia, the Matrix can read MP3, MIDI, iMelody, MMF, WAV, SMAF, and AAC+ format files.
The battery on this Pantech cellphone can last 3 hours of talk time, which is below the average and should be improved in the next version. On stand-by mode it works up to 10 hours.
By using a microSD card, the memory can be expanded to 4GB - lots of mp3s to listen. XM Radio and music subscription services like napster and eMusic are also included.

We obviously don't have any pricing and availability yet but when the Matrix hits it will arrive in three colors, red, black and blue. Wonder why it's called Matrix though.

While the Pantech Sky IM-S380K was a GSM handset headed for Korea's KTF, the new Sky IM-S360L seems to head the other way to the CDMA air waves on Korea's CDMA carrier, LGT. Although molded from the same clay, there are many differences on the IM-S360L starting with network support and the slightly changed key placement on the same slider design. The Pantech Sky Bang also features a 2.3-inch QVGA display, a 1.3 megapixel camera, FM radio, mp3 player, and microSD support. Measuring 102.9 x 48.6 x 13.4 mm and weighing 94 grams, the Sky Bang is available in a choice of Black, White, Silver, and of course, Pink at 400,000 KRW ($346) on LGT.

iPod Nano Similar to Zune?

We woke up in an iPod mood today. After we've heard a rumor about the next iPod Touch, it appears the new iPod Nano will suffer some changes too.
The word on the street is that Apple will be transforming the new Nano which will look like a Touch only with a smaller screen. Other people are saying that the new Nano will look similar to the Zune. Why on Earth would Apple do anything like that?
Other changes suggest a 1.5:1 widescreen aspect ratio like the iPhone and the iPod Touch. As for the exterior design, it appears that the new model will come in the classic aluminum case. What, no colors this year?
Really looking forward to see all new iPods. Any Apple official announcements?

Here is one more cell phone destined for a Korea-only life. The Pantech IM-U300K is a clamshell that is HSDPA capable with WCDMA global roaming and video calling. There is also the usual suite of applications like an mp3 player, electronic dictionary, and a document viewer. But what sets it apart isn't the terrestrial DMB TV or the passable 2-megapixel camera but the 49 LED dots that are present on the front folder of the IM-U300K. These LEDs have the ability to form personalized icons/messages for 15 different situations including receiving messages, alarm, and caller identification. Furthermore, users can also create their own personalized icons with the bundled PC Sync Tool.
The IM-U300K Neon-Sign phone will be available in a choice of white, sky blue, and black on Korea's KTF mobile network although there is no information on when.

pantech-bone-conduction.jpg
Bone conduction is the conduction of sound to the inner ear through the bones of the skull. Bone conduction is the reason why a person's voice sounds different to him/her when it is recorded and played back. It tends to amplify the lower frequencies, and so most people hear their own voice as being of a lower pitch than it actually is. Using this concept in earphones or hearing aids is nothing new.
We have come across many gadgets in the past that have used Bone Conduction. The latest one to incorporate this feature is Pantech's KDDI A1407PT cellphone. Other than the fact that the phone features bone conduction loudspeakers that channels sound through your bones from your ear (or just behind your ear), thus helping you hear in noisy environments, the phone has little else to write home about. It sports a 2.4-inch screen and a 1.3-megapixel camera.

It's official - big screens are in, and so are sliders. It seems everyone's making one these days, and according to the FCC, Pantech is no exception. Their latest phone was spotted on the FTC website with Helio branding.
Not only is the Pantech PN810 a slider, but it's a dual slider as well. If you're not quite sure what that means, check out the photo. The phone slides vertically to reveal a traditional phone keypad, and horizontally to reveal a full QWERTY keypad, which makes messaging friends quick and easy. The PN810 also a 2.1-megapixel camera (with flash), EV-DO radio, and Bluetooth capability. It also has nice 260k TFT LCD display. It should be long before the company announces the phone, and it ends up at Helio.
